Bio:
Ufi Ibrahim is Founder and Chief Executive of the Energy & Environment Alliance (EEA), a global coalition of hospitality investors, owners and operators representing more than €360 billion in assets. Under her leadership, the EEA is building the infrastructure for “commercially intelligent sustainability,” aligning the hospitality and lodging sector with audit-grade reporting standards, executive education, and capital-market intelligence in line with IFRS S1 and S2, SASB, TNFD, CSRD and CRREM frameworks.
Ufi currently serves on several boards, including the Lamington Group and the Food, Farming & Countryside Commission, and advises international organisations on sustainable investment and regulatory alignment.
Previously, Ufi served as Chief Executive of the British Hospitality Association (2010–2018), where she restructured the organisation, doubled revenues, and orchestrated its merger to form UK Hospitality, now the industry’s most influential business association. She also launched the UK Tourism Industry Group with government, and spearheaded national campaigns including the Big Hospitality Conversation, which mobilised over 4,000 businesses and created 67,000 jobs and apprenticeships for young people.
Earlier, as Chief Operating Officer of the World Travel & Tourism Council (2000–2010), Ufi oversaw the development of the International Competitiveness Monitor, now published by the World Economic Forum, and in 2009 led the sector’s first global commitment to cut carbon emissions by 50% by 2035.
