Bio:

Zetty Metassan is Sustainability Officer for Real Estate at the Brunei Investment Agency (BIA). An architect-trained ESG strategist, that bridges institutional real estate investment, sustainable development, and world-class design. She joined BIA in 2003 and has spent over two decades with the organisation, working across a global portfolio.

As Development Manager, Zetty is instrumental in driving institutional real estate projects from initiation through completion, with governance and compliance central to her approach. Her investment expertise extends beyond development delivery. She led the evaluation and execution of a private equity real estate fund investment, securing a successful investment recommendation and approval outcome.

Zetty began her career in hands-on hospitality asset management, a grounding that continues to shape how she leads institutional real estate delivery today. She is actively involved in advancing ESG governance, sustainability strategy, and responsible investment practices, including the implementation of globally recognised sustainability frameworks and certifications across hospitality, commercial and residential assets. Under her leadership, BIA's hotel portfolio also achieved GSTC multi-site sustainability certification in 2026.

Her experience spans leading stakeholder engagement, portfolio-level sustainability planning, performance monitoring, and the development of practical initiatives that enhance both environmental performance and long-term asset value.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Architecture (RIBA Part 1) from the University of Nottingham (2000) and a Diploma in Architecture (RIBA Part 2) from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL (2004).
